Pinlo

Privacy policy

In short: Pinlo has no accounts and no tracking. Your notes stay on your computer. We only hold what’s needed to sell you a licence and to email you if you asked us to.

This policy is from [Seller legal name], the maker of Pinlo (“we”). It covers this website, the Pinlo app, the Pinlo browser extension and the browser demo.

The app

  • Your notes stay on your computer. They’re saved as files on your own device, and nothing about them is sent to us.
  • No accounts and no telemetry. The app doesn’t send us usage data, and we have no analytics in it.
  • Folder sync goes through a folder you choose (for example Dropbox, Drive, OneDrive or Syncthing). That service’s own privacy policy applies to what it stores. We never see it.
  • The licence key is checked on your computer, offline. Checking it sends nothing to us.
  • AI features (Pinlo Plus) send notes only to the AI you choose (for example Claude, a provider using your own API key, or a model on your own computer), and only when you use an AI feature. That provider’s privacy policy covers what you send it. Your API keys are kept in the Windows Credential Manager on your computer, never on our servers.
  • Crash reports are sent only if you choose to send one.

The browser extension

The extension keeps your notes in your browser’s own storage, on your device. It doesn’t send your notes, or the pages you visit, to us or anyone else. It reads the page you’re on only to show and place your notes there.

The browser demo

The demo runs in your browser and keeps nothing. Notes you make in it vanish when you close or reload the page.

This website

  • Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details to serve and protect the site.
  • Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t track you across sites.
  • No cookies. This site sets no cookies for tracking or advertising.
  • Fonts and other files are served from our own site, not from third parties.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address to tell you when Pinlo is out, and occasionally about Pinlo. We use Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) to store the list and send the emails, under Brevo’s privacy policy. We ask you to confirm your address first, so nobody can sign you up without your say. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future emails. We never sell or share the list.

Buying Pinlo

Purchases go through Paddle, our reseller and the Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your name, email, payment and billing details, and handles tax and receipts, under Paddle’s privacy policy. We never see your card details. Paddle shares with us what we need to run the sale: your email, what you bought, your country and the order details. We use them to send your licence key, help with your purchase, and keep the records the law requires.

Emailing us

If you email hello@pinlonotes.com, the message is forwarded to our Gmail inbox (Google). We use it only to reply to you.

How long we keep things

  • Waitlist emails: until you unsubscribe, or until the waitlist is no longer needed.
  • Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Support emails: as long as they’re useful for helping you.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@pinlonotes.com. Purchase records that the law requires us to keep can’t be deleted early. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Children

Pinlo isn’t made for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
